The  Bard renames him and gives him permission to rewrite the sonnets according to his own experience. Influenced by the Rushdie affair,  I wondered what act of blasphemy would bring approbation upon the head of an Englishman?…Sullying the pure language of The Bard with the common language of the street, obviously.
